Fighter Kites - Progress Check No. 2

This was an important week for our team thanks to the shot list we created during our production meeting on Friday. Finalizing the first iteration of our shot list was vital for the asset list and the white-boxing that are coming up in our process.

Our team thought that following an animatic was important to kickstart the process, but quickly realized we needed something more. That's where the script came into play, and we hired a good friend, Cat Bitteker, to assist in professionally creating the script. With the script, and the table reading we did last week, suddenly everyone could see the short in their heads and we were all on the same page.

With the script approach, the rest was much easier. After the table reading, we spent a few hours going over where shot changes made the most sense, and this week we settled on our first shot list. With assistance, we also found ways to strengthen the ending. By adding a scene at the end, we added a resolution instead of completing the story with mere falling action.

My plan from here is to continue the color scripts (made easier with a completed shot list) with Aelma and to continue the character development. While the color scripts are taking longer than expected, we are still one time with our goal of look-devs and white-boxing by 2/17.
