This week went very smoothly in regard to shot production. Since all other tasks were put on hold, everyone was able to get a grasp of playblasting shots in Maya and figure out the pipeline.

Aelma and I created a checklist/instruction sheet for optimal playblast settings, and that seemed to work very well. I had some trouble with Maya early in the week, something with the set dressing was deleting interface items in the program, but thanks to Alex, everything with that is sorted now.

I've been enjoying the layout element of this process, however, the slowness of the scene is frustrating to deal with. I have some ideas for solving this issue since my biggest concern is animating. For now, it works great with blocked anim.

Layout is a much slower process than I imagined, however, it is a great way to experiment with the aesthetic of the film, and all the camera research has been fun. Learning things like an 85mm camera being the best for extreme close-ups is the best part.

Continuity between five people has also been an interesting goal to tackle, and we've found that if people split up the animatic per scene, it works smoothly. Also making sure to be open to asking a lot of questions is a huge step.

Right now, it looks like everyone is on track to finish by Sunday, yay! We checked with everyone today and people seem super confident so I'm excited to put the animatic together.
