My team is on track for the Production Pass Review coming up on 2/17 - we spent today preparing the sandbox with a single directory we will be using for the presentation. This included creating a shared SynchSketch, white-boxing Maya directory, Canvas page, etc. With all the research we've been doing, so many things have begun coming together into one story, and confidence in our ideas is building.

When I started the color scripts, I realized that some planning needed to go into them before color blocking could come into play. I became lost in the panels and needed to refer back to the script in order to regain my bearings. To the left are the sketches I did, planning out what parts of the story were contained on which panels. Mood and tone were fundamental in
considering these panels, and I studied
Lou Romano's work for The Incredibles
(2004).

The geometric style is what caught my eye the most and made things much easier to conceptualize. The only thing I really need to be worrying about is the colors after all.
I also follow Dermot Power on Instagram, and his work for the new Wednesday show stood out to me. His use of silhouettes and greyscale blocking was such a clean and beautiful way of expressing concepts. I eventually found his blog, and there I found an even more in-depth analysis of his process. I try to keep track of artists like this, and honestly, that's all my Instagram is good for these days.
