After the previous production pass review, our team realized how beneficial an animatic would be for the next one. With older sketches making up an outdated animatic, a whiteboxed, laid-out, and camera shot-based video is the next step.
Below is an example of a still that the animatic might look like. Whiteboxing and shot layout are important to our team as adding the voiceover and some background sound too.

For myself, beginning the main character model is the next task alongside the animatic. Researching base meshes and wireframe renders from other artists was the first step in my process. For the face, some major elements to consider in the wireframe are the orbicularis oculi, the nasolabial fold, the head cap, and the jawline.




The plan for the characters is to create one base mesh and alter it for the rest of the characters. The heads will detach and be transferred into ZBrush for detail sculpting. The t-pose is ready as a reference, and now the best part begins ... real production!
