We have two weeks left to complete the whiteboxed animatic and we are on schedule. Something we discussed today was the timing in the animatic, and how to understand pacing and speed. We figured that once all the shots are mostly ready, that's when the timing can be adjusted and lengthened. During the last production pass review, a similar piece of feedback everyone received was that their animatics were too fast. This is something our team will consider when formatting the animatic for the next production pass.

This week, my goal was to begin the modeling process for the main character, and I realized that I needed more than a front image plane. Once I finished the side and back sketches, everything aligned more evenly.

Speed is an interesting factor in this process because I was thinking that more sketches of the characters in their natural environment would be ideal. However, I need to move on and honestly, those can come later. Even if they fit under the category of pre-production, doing them later in the production is completely fine.

I checked a character wireframe that I will be using as a reference with my professor, and it turned out to be a great resource. Being worried about rigging later, and making that process as seamless as possible, this was an important issue.

I think that hands and feet will be the most difficult element to model, besides the head of course, but I'm itching to get this done. We set up a more specified goal this Friday: to have a first pass of the hero characters modeled. I feel confident with this, and splitting up the work between each team member was extremely helpful.

With the whiteboxing, I have two scenes ready to render at the moment, and the plan is to complete the renders a few days before the 17th. This way, everyone will be available to set up the animatic and add the voiceovers as well.
