This was a great modeling week with the team. Everyone got their hero models done over 95% (not including UVs), and we all presented them to each other today. It was awesome that everyone was so on top of everything and extremely responsible for their own assets.
I have to crank down on my topology for the main character, and I've decided to do the face topology in Maya before dropping it into ZBrush. I started in Zbrush this week, but my concepts are so good, I honestly feel more confident in Maya. I am a bit stuck on the hands and feet (I feel like I have to take care of the hands before the arms, so I got some reference videos from a classmate which will be extremely helpful with that step).
Next week is going to be very hefty with getting our goals ready for the production pass, but I feel very confident getting ready for what we will be presenting.
I also found an amazing video clip on the 11 Second Club that had some animated textures that caught my attention.
I loved the way they moved across the characters, giving an almost claymation-like element to the piece. It also looks relatively straightforward, so I'd love to look into that a bit more.
